The 3B Scientific VA20 model was developed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology to display a transverse (cross-sectional) view of the human torso for anatomical study. The model consists of 15 horizontal, colored sections for accurate identification of the torso’s features. The VA20 is mounted on an axis with pivoting spokes for viewing, and its sections can be moved horizontally, rotated, or removed for detailed examination. The model is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.

The model measures 51.2 x 15.7 x 13.8 inches /130.0 x 40.0 x 35.0cm (H x W x D). (H is the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is the horizontal distance from left to right; D is the horizontal distance from front to back.)
